City Manager Recruitment Process

The City of Culver City (City) is recruiting for their next City Manager as the current City Manager (John Nachbar) is planning to retire at the end of December 2025.

After a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the City has selected and engaged with the external recruitment firm, Tri Star Gov Solutions, to recruit for the City’s next City Manager. Click here for more information on Tri Star Gov Solutions.

As a commitment to transparency, below are key recruitment milestones to keep the community informed of the process.

  • June 22, 2025 - City Council Closed Session Meeting:
    Kick Off Meeting with Tri Star Gov and City Council
  • June 14, 2025 - City Council Closed Session Meeting:

  • Week of July 15 – August 1, 2025:

Salary Schedule

The City of Culver City employs approximately 800 full and part-time personnel in nearly 300 different job classifications. The link to the document below provides a quick reference to the compensation provided to each classification.

3. Review

Before submitting your application, review the material to ensure that all information is filled out truthfully and to the best of your ability. Once you submit the on-line application you will not be able to make any updates.

4. Submit the Application

After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirmation. You can also check your Government Jobs Account for verification that your application was sent successfully.

After the posted closing date, all applications are reviewed. Applicants will be notified via email, typically about two weeks after the closing date. Individuals qualified for the position will be notified of the next steps in the process.
