2026 City-Initiated Zoning Code Amendment

The City Council is pleased to invite your participation in a Public Hearing for the following:

WHO:       City of Culver City Current Planning Division

WHAT:     City-Initiated Zoning Code Amendment to various sections of the Zoning Code, including but not limited to, 17.220.015 – Mixed Use District Land Uses and Permit Requirements, 17.300.020 – Setback Regulations and Exceptions, 17.320.035 – Parking Design and Layout Guidelines, and 17.700.010 – Definitions of Specialized Terms and Phrases, to update and clarify various development standards and specific land uses for effective implementation, internal consistency, and State Law compliance, including, but not limited to, child day care centers, cannabis, setback projections, landscape, parking, and definitions and criteria of specific land uses (Case No. P2026-0115-ZCA).

WHEN:    Monday, June 22, 2026, at 7 PM

WHY:       The purpose of the Public Hearing is for the City Council to review and receive public input on the proposed Zoning Code Amendment, which proposes to make a variety of updates.

CEQA:     Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, Section 15061(b)(3), the Project is exempt because it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the Project to implement updates, corrections, and clarifications of various development standards and land uses, including, but not limited to, child day care centers, cannabis, setback projections, landscape, parking, and definitions and criteria of specific land uses, for effectiveness of implementation, internal consistency and clarity within the Zoning Code, will have a significant effect on the environment.

The City Council Agenda and Project staff report will be available for viewing online and at City Hall no later than 72 hours prior to the meeting date and time.

City Hall hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and closed every other Friday (Closed June 12th).
