Culver City’s approach is locally rooted and partnership-driven, with less emphasis on large, centralized events. We are focusing on sustainable growth that strengthens our arts community long after the closing ceremonies.
Opportunities for Artists & Producers
We will be looking for creative partners to help bring this vision to life. Our framework is designed to be modular, scaling up as needed.
Performing Arts & Activations: Our existing Performing Arts Grant Program will be used to fund local performances. We will also engage a creative partner to lead cultural activations showcasing dance, music, movement, and artmaking in parks and non-traditional spaces.
Regional Collaborations: City programs will be linked with similar events in other areas, such as a potential jazz collaboration with our neighbors.
Film & Media: The Culver City Arts Foundation will lead the production of an International Film Festival at the Culver Theater.
New Zealand Team Hospitality Zone: Local cultural groups may have the opportunity to showcase their work on stage as part of this international fan zone showcasing New Zealand’s creativity, innovation and hospitality.
Get Involved
Cultural Affairs will be releasing formal Requests for Proposals (Coming Soon) for an Independent Cultural Producer and Lead Arts Partners to manage curation, production and logistics. If you want to receive future notification about opportunities, check this page and sign up for the Cultural Subscriber Email List.
What the Public Can Expect
Culver City will be a vibrant destination for residents and visitors and the people who work here. Before, during, and after the 2028 games, our cultural contributions will include:
Public Art: The completion of Charles Gaines’ A Frame for a Tree, our Rotating Sculpture Program, and new community murals.
Live Music & Dance: Local performances in downtown plazas and dance activations in neighborhood parks.
Film: A multi-day International Film Festival celebrating independent and global cinema in the center of downtown.
International Exchange: Collaborations with international delegations, including the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
Our Scalable Vision
We are committed to fiscal responsibility. Our programming will grow based on fundraising milestones led by The Culver City Arts Foundation.
Tier 1 (Core): Focuses on our existing grants, the International Film Festival, and major public art installations.
Tier 2 (Enhanced): Expands the frequency of performances and increases regional marketing to bring more visitors to Culver City businesses.
Tier 3 (Signature): The highest level of activation, enabling large-scale, partner-produced projects and significant international collaborations.
Coming Soon
Culver City will be showcasing our existing arts programs and supporting new initiatives with local artists. We are celebrating the community spirit of 2028 in our streets, theaters, and parks.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the Olympic games in 2028.
