Architectural drawings

  • Project description, consultant list, and sheet index
  • General notes and material specifications
  • Site plan, existing and proposed
  • Site survey
  • Grading plans
  • Landscape plan
  • Demolition plans
  • Fully dimensioned floor and roof plans
  • Building elevations and sections
  • Window and door schedules
  • Title 24 energy calculations and forms

Structural drawings

  • General notes and material specifications
  • Foundation and framing plans
  • Truss plans
  • Foundation and framing details

Structural calculations

  • Design for vertical load-bearing members (dead and live loads)
  • Truss calculations
  • Design of the lateral-force resisting system (seismic and wind loads)
  • Design of miscellaneous components, such as guardrails and parapets

Additional Information

Residential development with 3 or more attached units should review the Commercial Document Submittal Requirements.

Drawings sheet shall be a minimum size of 24" by 36", prepared with black ink, drawn to scale, and fully dimensioned. Drawings may be submitted electrically but will need to be printed to full-size for inspection.

Plans shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the nature and extent of the proposed work and to show in detail that the project will conform to the provisions of all applicable codes, laws, ordinances, and regulations.

Additional permits will cover demolition of structures, and construction of proposed accessory structures, including pools and spas, block walls.
