Annual Budget

Every year, the City Council adopts the annual budget for the City allocating resources to fund public services, City programs, and capital projects. The City's fiscal year begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th. Per Section 801 of the City Charter, the proposed budget must be submitted to the City Council no later than 45 days prior to the end of the fiscal year.

Adopted Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027

In accordance with the City Charter, the City Council and Boards for the Successor Agency, Housing Authority and Parking Authority was provided with the City Manager's/Executive Director's Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 at the May 11, 2026 Regular City Council Meeting. The proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 is available for review(PDF, 46MB)View the PowerPoint slides from the budget presentation at the May 11, 2026 City Council meeting(PDF, 10MB).

On June 8, 2026, the City Council held a public hearing and adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027. More information on the Budget and Public Hearing is available in the June 8, 2026 staff report. Attachments detail the adjustments, correction, and changes from the May 11th Proposed Budget.

Adopted Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026

The adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026(PDF, 61MB) is available for review.

On May 19 and 20, 2025, the City Council held a meeting during which City staff gave presentations and provided highlights on the Proposed Budget. The presentation slides from Chief Financial Officer Lisa Soghor's overall budget presentation(PDF, 4MB) are also available for review.

On June 9, 2025, the City Council held a public hearing and adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. Proposed Capital Improvement Projects for Fiscal Year 2026-2027

As part of the Fiscal 2026-2027 budget process, the Proposed Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 through 2030-2031 is available for review(PDF, 15MB)

Capital Improvement Projects for Fiscal Year 2025-2026

As part of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget development process, the City updated the online Capital Improvement Projects Portal to provide additional information of the new capital improvement projects in the Adopted Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The complete Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 through 2029-2030 is available for review(PDF, 19MB).

On August 11, 2025 City Council approved the defunding of some capital improvement projects in order to fund a one-time donation of $2.5 million to the Culver City Unified School District. The August 11, 2025 staff report and attachments are available for review. The changes were made following the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget and are therefore not reflected in the adopted budget book for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.

The Total General Fund Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 is $205.3 million .

The Total General Fund Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 is $199.7 million.

Amending the Adopted Budget

The budget may only be amended or supplemented by a 4/5 vote of the City Council.
