Street Sweeping.jpg

Culver City Public Works Department Adjusts Street Sweeping Hours

Beginning in November, the Culver City Public Works Department is changing street sweeping times citywide and changing street sweeping parking restrictions from 4-hour windows to 2-hour windows.

Shorter windows will reduce the amount of time that parking is restricted on residential streets, improving parking access and making parking more convenient for residents.

The new sweeping schedule will allow the City to maintain effective street cleaning operations. The City has begun updating signage citywide, beginning in the eastern part of the City and progressing west. Learn more about the new street sweeping schedule and find an interactive online map.

Share Your Feedback: Future of Washington Boulevard's "Tree Surrounds"

The City of Culver City invites community members to share their feedback on the future of the Washington Boulevard “tree surrounds” — the sculptural light fixtures originally installed in 1998 along the Arts District corridor between National and Fairfax Avenues.

Designed by the Los Angeles firm Sussman/Prejza, the illuminated surrounds were created to celebrate Culver City’s cinematic heritage, each featuring the title of a film made locally. More than 25 years later, the system shows signs of wear and requires significant maintenance and restoration.

The City is exploring several options for the corridor’s future, which may include repairing, redesigning, or removing the tree surrounds. Community input will help guide decisions about how best to approach this next phase.

Please complete a brief survey on the "tree surrounds" by Thursday, November 21, 2025.

Your feedback will help inform the City’s evaluation of future options for these distinctive features of the Culver City Arts District streetscape.
