The concert features a jazz quintet drawn from the members of the Symphonic Jazz Orchestra. The evening will celebrate the Centennial of two jazz greats, Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
The Symphonic Jazz Orchestra is a non-profit that teaches music to students in elementary and middle schools across LA County. SJO also brings together its 68-member orchestra to perform community concerts. This is all part of SJO’s mission to transform communities, schools and lives through music.
Reservations are needed. Seating is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. There will be a stand-by line available for those unable to make reservations.
The concert takes place in the Glorya Kaufman Community Center located on the west side of the museum. Free parking is available in the city lots adjacent to the museum.
