The Planning and Development Department is responsible for guiding, monitoring, and facilitating land use development within Culver City. The three divisions that make up the Department include: Current Planning, Advanced Planning and Building & Safety.

Announcing an important funding opportunity for Culver City Property Owners of eligible multi-unit residential properties:

The Earthquake Multi-Unit Retrofit (EMR) Program, administered by the California Residential Mitigation Program (CRMP), provides grants of up to $49,600 to help retrofit eligible soft-story apartment buildings, improving safety and reducing the risk of damage during future earthquakes.

Application Period: August 19 – September 30, 2026
