Join us October 14 through 17 for BioscienceLA Week, featuring top leaders engaging in the latest updates on life sciences as a workforce accelerator and economic impact driver across all of the greater Los Angeles County area’s diverse communities.

The greater Los Angeles area is poised to become the newest and best resourced life science industry mega-hubs, with more than a half a billion of dollars in recent investment announced by companies like Amgen, Takeda, and others who share in the vision of a diverse and thriving bioscience economy in our backyard!

Bioscience LA Week will feature the recipients of the $24 million California Jobs First (CJF) grant, who will share and gain input from attendees on our collaborative approaches to strengthen our regional economy through the life sciences industry.

More than 2/3 of life science jobs do not require a 4-year college degree, making this industry one of the best overall strategies for a highly diverse and inclusive workforce. CJF recipients in the LA region include BioscienceLA, LARTA, LAEDC, and LA County Department of Economic Opportunity.

October 14 Opening Reception at Beckmen YOLA Philharmonic Center, Inglewood, featuring Inglewood Mayor James Butts; Dr. Habibi, USC Brain & Creativity Institute, and U.S. Paralympian Candace Cable.

October 15 Career Day at Pasadena City College, Pasadena, dedicated to area middle and high school students, ‘If You See It, You Can Be It,’ with Pasadena Councilmember Tyron Hampton and PCC President Jose Gomez alongside industry hiring managers.

October 16 Economic Summit at LA Music Center, downtown LA, featuring Kelly LoBianco, LA County DEO; Stephen Cheung, LAEDC; Ben Chu, Amgen; Dr. Howard Kozloff, along speakers from Noblespace, Takeda, Croda Pharma, Consulate of Ireland, and more.
