Culver City Releases Budget Timeline & Invites Community Input

The City of Culver City is moving forward with a structured and transparent process to develop and adopt the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget. This timeline reflects key milestones, opportunities for City Council review, and multiple points for community input.

Community participation remains an important part of this process. Residents, businesses, and community partners are encouraged to attend upcoming “Let’s Talk Budget, Culver City” Community Conversations to share feedback on priorities and tradeoffs that will help inform Council deliberations.

Key Dates and Milestones

Week of April 27

Week of May 11

  • May 11 – City Council Meeting
    • Delivery of the Proposed Budget and budget overview presentation
    • Budget to be made available for public on the City's website
  • May 13 – "Let’s Talk Budget, Culver City" - Community Conversation on Budget Input
    • 6:30 PM, Culver West Alexander Recreation Center
  • May 16 – "Let’s Talk Budget, Culver City" - Community Conversation on Budget Input
    • 1:30 PM, Culver City Senior Center

Week of May 18

  • City staff to compile and summarize public feedback from Community Conversations

Week of May 25

  • May 25 – City offices closed in observance of Memorial Day
  • May 26 – City Council Meeting
    • Discussion of the Proposed Budget
    • Public Hearings to present and consider adoption of User Fee and Refuse Rate updates

Week of June 3

  • Staff to compile and reconcile City Council budget direction

Week of June 8

  • June 8 – City Council Meeting
    • Public Hearing for Budget Adoption
  • June 9 – Staff to compile any final Council-approved budget adjustments
