WHY: The Culver City Municipal Code requires a 15-day public review period for administrative decisions, during which time the Current Planning Division solicits comments from the public. Following the conclusion of the public review period, an Administrative Decision will be made.
WHEN: Public Comment Period: Monday, September 21, 2026, through Monday, October 5, 2026
CEQA: The Project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15302, Class 2 – Replacement or Reconstruction. The Project involves demolition of an existing 4,000-square-foot library/classroom building and construction of a replacement 5,400 sq. ft. library/classroom building on the same site. The replacement structure is substantially the same size as the existing structure, serves the same purpose, and will not increase student enrollment capacity.
The Project is also categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, Class 1 – Existing Facilities, because the proposed improvements to the existing dormitory building consist of minor interior and exterior alterations and a 105 sq. ft. addition to an existing dining room that involves a negligible expansion of the existing use.
