Prohousing Designation

Culver City has officially received a Prohousing Designation. California’s Prohousing Designation is a recognition from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for cities and counties that are taking meaningful steps to make it easier to build and preserve housing. Prohousing Designated communities have adopted policies that can streamline housing approvals, encourage new housing, reduce development barriers, and support affordable housing. A jurisdiction with a Prohousing Designation may receive priority processing or funding points when applying for several funding programs.

The Prohousing Incentive Program (PIP) provides state grant funding to designated cities and counties for eligible housing-related activities. Culver City was awarded funding through the fourth round of the Prohousing Incentive Program.
